Alastair Sterne
Alastair Sterne serves as lead pastor of St. Peter’s Fireside in Vancouver, B.C. and chair of church planting for the Anglican Network in Canada. Prior to planting St. Peter’s, he worked in communications and design. He is currently working on a doctorate in missiology at Fuller Seminary, and is the co-author of Rhythms of Life: Intentionally Becoming Like Christ With Others (forthcoming). Alastair is Julia's husband, the daddy of two inspiring girls, and a BBQ enthusiast.

When Alastair Sterne was sent to plant a new Anglican Network in Canada church in downtown Vancouver, he never dreamed how arid the soil would be. Then the ache in his heart became the joyful hope of trust in God.
Two years have since passed and as I reflect on the past six years of church planting in Canada’s “most secular” city, my mind more readily returns to what I did not expect When I was about to start church planting in Vancouver, a lovely curmudgeon of a pastor said to me, “I look forward to seeing what you will be like two years from now My heart also carries a quiet and persistent ache from saying goodbye to a steady stream of people who leave Vancouver due to its inhospitable housing and rental market
